Overview
In this Solution Architect role, you drive Fortinet’s solution sales with Higher Education accounts, positioning the portfolio to senior stakeholders and shaping technical and business value. You lead pre-sales activities, architecture discussions, and PoCs, while aligning security and networking strategies with customer needs. You work cross-functionally to differentiate Fortinet, manage use cases, and influence decisions. This is a hands-on, strategic role with significant impact on large education accounts and multi-stakeholder projects.

- Demonstrate Fortinet portfolio value and articulate business impact
- Position solutions at a strategic level and drive sales opportunities
- Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and influence project decisions
- Manage solution domain use cases, competitive intelligence, and integrations
- Lead technical sales engagements from inquiries to demos, RfX, and PoCs
- Provide architecture and implementation guidance for strategic opportunities
- Serve as trusted advisor to selected accounts and coordinate with support and engineering
- Support PreSales, Sales & Channel enablement activities and events
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 8+ years in networking (Campus & DC LAN, WIFI, WAN, SDN, routing, switching) and network security
- 5+ years as IT Security Consultant or Architect with success
- Strong customer focus with understanding of university requirements
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Foundational knowledge of datacenter architectures, security architectures, software architectures, cloud architectures, security operations, and IT security standards/regulations
- German and English proficiency
- Willingness to travel 20–50%
