Overview
In this Senior Network Security Engineer role, you will design, operate and scale a SASE architecture across data center environments using Infrastructure as Code. You’ll combine Fortinet security products with Linux/OpenStack systems to improve observability, automation and incident response. The position involves a 24x7 NOC on-call rotation and occasional weekend coverage, collaborating with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence and drive capacity planning. You will shape secure, scalable networks and inspire best practices across the infrastructure.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Maintain and optimize network architectures across datacenters (logical & physical)
- Build and tune network monitoring and observability systems
- Develop automation to detect, mitigate, and remediate network events
- Perform root cause analysis and drive issues to resolution
- Maintain documentation and operational consistency across infrastructure
- Contribute to technical discussions and long-range capacity planning
- Provide escalation support for production issues
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Networking (8+ years) with L2 switching, IP routing, BGP/OSPF/MPLS/VRRP/STP/GRE/IPsec/SNMP
- Large-scale BGP experience (public ASNs, peering, IRRs)
- Network Security (8+ years): access control, threat management, SSL inspection, risk frameworks
- Fortinet product experience strongly preferred
- Linux administration (5+ years) in RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu; OpenStack a plus (RHOSP/RHOSO)
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation habits
