Data Engineer / Scientist (M / F)

Goal

We are looking for a Data Engineer / Scientist with strong technical and analytical skills as well as domain expertise in finance and insurance to join our team. You will play a key role in leveraging data to improve risk assessment, pricing strategies, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of financial modeling, insurance products, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines across the full data lifecycle
• Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to financial and insurance operations.
• Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and underwriting teams to enhance data models and data landscape.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making across departments.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and industry standards.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Profile

Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in the finance or insurance industry, preferably in a data science or data engineering role

Strong programming skills in SQL, SAS or similar languages

Solid understanding of data architecture, data warehousing solutions, ETL processes, business intelligence

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. SAS VA, Power BI).

Solid understanding of financial metrics, insurance products, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II).

Perfect knowledge and utilization of MS Office, especially MS Excel including VBA.

You are fluent in English, additional foreign languages (e.g. French, German) are considered an asset.
