About the Role
Join the technical pre-sales team at an industrial R&D software company, helping organizations improve how they manage and use research data. You will guide prospects from initial demonstrations through technical evaluations and pilots, connecting their scientific workflows with practical software solutions.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical pre-sales process, from initial demonstrations through value case development, technical evaluations, and pilot execution.
- Build tailored demonstrations, workshops, and pilots around each prospect's research and development workflows.
- Partner with account executives and prospect stakeholders to communicate value and support new business.
- Lead technical presentations that show how software can improve R&D data management and innovation.
- Mentor and support recent graduates assisting with technical evaluations.
- Write scripts and configure integrations on an integration server for custom prospect engagements.
- Travel 25% to 50% for prospect meetings, presentations, and workshops.
What We're Looking For
- Typically, 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in a technical, scientific, or customer-facing role.
- A strong background in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience writing scripts and configuring integrations to support customer-specific technical engagements.
- Familiarity with Python, scripting, and software or AI tools, along with the ability to learn technical platforms independently.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced pre-sales environment.
- Experience with digitalization in chemical or materials industries, technical management consulting, or software engineering is a plus.
- Authorization to work in the role's country without visa sponsorship is required.
- Compensation is $120,000 to $150,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote, with Munich, Bavaria, Germany as the primary location. Travel to prospect sites is expected.
