Job Overview

Healthcare Professionals are needed to provide medical services to supplement the medical staff in support of the Military Treatment Facilities and Health Clinics within US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe and for other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies including US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree: Master’s of Science in Medicine
• Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
• Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA)
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant during the last 3 years
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant as required in the TO

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF.
• Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries, and recognize emergency conditions.
• Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care.
• Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols.
• Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem.
• Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
• Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others to promote primary care services.
• Teach patients and family members healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
• Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
• Perform Physician Assistant services in support of the Deployment Related Health Assessments (DRHA) as required.

DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status

This position is eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
