Responsibilities:

• Patent attorney support and advice for the business groups and inventors in all matters relating to intellectual property rights
• Proactive participation in the creation and implementation of the business groups‘ IP strategies
• Supporting development projects as a patent attorney and helping to protect the results under intellectual property law
• Responsibility for applying for patents, utility models, trademarks and designs and managing the granting/registration procedures in Germany and abroad
• Responsibility for enforcing and defending own property rights and defending against third-party property rights in Germany and abroad
• Supporting the business units in freedom-to-operate analyses in Germany and abroad
• Contributing to the drafting of IP provisions in contracts as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Carrying out IP due diligence in interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed studies in mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics or electrical engineering or a comparable qualification
• Admission as a European representative and/or German patent attorney
• Preferably several years of professional experience in the patent department of an industrial company or a patent law firm
• Experience in the field of trademarks required
• Experience in the protection of digital inventions is an advantage
• Very good communication skills for the clear presentation of complicated legal issues
• Strong teamwork skills, independent and efficient working style, hands-on mentality, goal orientation, flexibility and initiative
• Business fluent in German and fluent in English
