The Opportunity
For an established Medical technology company developing sophisticated electronic systems, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Electronics & Embedded Systems Engineer to take ownership of hardware design, embedded software and system architecture.
This is a key technical position offering significant independence, responsibility and the opportunity to become the company's primary technical expert and decision-maker.
The initial focus will be on maintaining, improving and modernizing existing electronic products, while also contributing to future developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain and modernize electronic circuits, PCBs and embedded systems.
- Develop, modify and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++.
- Take technical ownership of system architecture, engineering changes and product improvements.
- Design schematics and multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer or OrCAD.
- Troubleshoot complex analog and digital electronics, including signal acquisition and processing.
- Manage component obsolescence and implement efficient technical improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation and collaborate with external manufacturing partners.
Your Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems or a related technical discipline.
- Ideally 6–10+ years of hands‑on experience in electronic hardware and embedded software development.
- Strong experience in PCB design, electronic circuit development and embedded C/C++.
- Experience with microcontrollers, ideally ARM Cortex, and analog/digital electronics.
- Solid understanding of electronic system architecture and product development.
- Independent, pragmatic and solution‑oriented, with the confidence to take technical ownership.
- Professional fluency in English; German is an advantage.
Nice to have, but not essential: Experience in medical devices, signal processing or regulated product development, including IEC 60601, IEC 62304 or ISO 13485.
Candidates from other industries developing complex electronic devices and embedded systems are equally welcome.
