We are committed to having the world\’s most skilled people working with us and are currently looking for a Data Protection Specialist & Information Manager to lead transparency and rightful access to information in FSC and to protect FSC\’s business and personal data.

You will be a member of the Legal Department of the FSC Group, leading and facilitating the implementation of the newly adopted FSC Membership Access to Information and Transparency Policy . Your role involves fostering an internal culture of openness and transparency, along with awareness of confidentiality imperatives for certain information types.

Additionally, your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, data privacy, and IT laws in FSC\’s daily operations. You will support the development of new policies, enhance existing guidelines, and train staff. You will also act as a trusted advisor for our subsidiaries, providing risk-based advice on individual cases and developing solutions in collaboration with the legal team.

As a Data Protection Specialist & Information Manager, you will report to the FSC Group Head of Legal and play a central role in an international, culturally diverse organization with a global brand. You will collaborate closely with FSC\’s Director General and Board of Directors, contributing to governance and sustainable decision-making for the planet.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

Your role as guardian of FSC\’s new Policy involves leading its implementation and ensuring compliance, including:

• Applying the Policy: preparing prerequisites for successful implementation, developing training materials, assessing documents likely to be requested, updating confidentiality provisions in contracts, ensuring online information is current, managing information requests, advising on document classification, tracking response times, facilitating processes, maintaining logs, developing guidelines, monitoring disclosures, reporting on policy implementation, and reviewing the policy annually.

In your legal capacity, you will:

• Support data protection and processing improvements, shape regulations and guidelines, provide updates on legal changes, serve as a contact for legal queries, handle privacy and data requests, conduct assessments, and support IT law cases.

Your Profile

• University degree in law or related field with proven experience in legal queries concerning data protection, privacy, and IT law.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in legal or compliance roles, ideally within an international organization or law firm.
• Experience with FSC or certification systems is advantageous.
• Data Protection Officer certification or similar advanced training is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English and German; Spanish and/or French skills are a plus.
• Service-oriented, diligent, accurate, with strong communication skills, proficient in MS Office, SharePoint, Dynamics, DocuSign, SAP, and able to handle confidential information with integrity.
• A team player capable of multitasking, working under pressure, and thriving in a multicultural, global environment.

The Fine Print

• Full-time, 40 hours/week, with 2 days in the office.
• Contract duration: 2 years, with potential for extension.
• Start date: ASAP.
