Job Outline :
The Regional Technical Manager (RTM) manages and coordinates the Field Application Engineer (FAE) team within established countries of the Advanced Engineering Group (AEG). The RTM acts as both manager and mentor, balancing supplier relationships with guiding the team towards customer engagement. The RTM collaborates with Future’s Product Marketing Department and suppliers to identify suitable products and target markets, devising effective strategies with ongoing measurement of progress.
Key Responsibilities :
- Establish a process to track opportunities from design to delivery, including a clear handover process to convert technical designs into registered resales.
- Identify and review training needs for FAEs to support the customer base effectively, tailoring development for each team member.
- Guide suppliers to develop training for Future’s sales teams to discover new opportunities.
- Monitor and measure FAEs against key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring visibility and accountability.
- Maintain the company\’s design database and manufacturer registration schemes to ensure eligibility for design incentive bonuses.
- Implement and uphold policies related to the company’s technical programs.
- Stay informed about key supplier product releases and adapt strategies to leverage these ahead of competitors.
Candidate Requirements :
- Engineering qualification with at least five years of relevant experience in electronics or a related field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Commercial acumen, highly organized, and self-motivated.
- Ability to collaborate with sales teams to develop customer-focused strategies that leverage enabling technologies and FAE resources for profitable growth.
- Proactive, result-oriented, and capable of representing the UK technical team to suppliers and regional management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronics and the electronic distribution industry, including local vertical markets and key drivers such as margins and supplier management.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
