About Us
The Centre of Excellence (Co E) Asset Management Team is Tf L’s dedicated IBM Maximo capability, bringing together more than 35 highly skilled Maximo professionals including Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Developers, Business Analysts, Test Engineers, Integration Specialists and Application Support Engineers.
Together, we deliver enterprise-scale project development, continuous improvement and operational support for IBM Maximo across London Underground, London Overground, Surface Transport and the Elizabeth Line, supporting over 5,000 Maximo users across the organisation.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Tf L, as part of a close-knit team with significant long‑term investment in IBM Maximo and the Maximo Application Suite, to deliver solutions that support the maintenance and management of London’s critical transport assets.

- What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll
- Design, develop and support enterprise IBM Maximo solutions.
- Deliver high-quality enhancements through Maximo configuration, automation scripting and Java development.
- Develop innovative solutions that maximise out-of‑the-box functionality while delivering business value.
- Work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and support integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework and REST APIs.
- Participate in technical design, peer reviews and solution governance.
- Support production releases and ensure the stability, resilience and performance of critical applications.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to the wider Maximo community within Tf L.
- Help shape the future technical direction of IBM Maximo across the organisation.

- Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for executing support activities to enable fault resolution within the agreed SLAs, ensuring the restoration of services within the team’s portfolio.
- Responsible for developing and delivering recommendations to resolve critical defects and manage the wider implications of system faults, ensuring the restoration and improvement of the service.
- Assisting in recommending service and process improvements to ensure effective handling and correction of defects in Tf L's environments.
- Accountable for resolving incidents and fulfilling Service Requests within SLA targets assigned to you, or ensuring they are moved to the correct resolver team.
- Advancing service incidents to a higher severity when appropriate, to ensure the ongoing security and safety of Tf L’s business operations and delivery of service within SLAs.
- Responsible for technical knowledge management, peer‑to‑peer training and knowledge handover to Application Engineers.
- Accountable for assisting projects and other technical teams to deliver new services or update existing services within their portfolio.
- Supporting deployment, configuration, release and maintenance activities across Maximo, Maximo Application Suite and associated integration platforms.
- Working with technical teams to support automation, CI/CD pipelines, source control and environment management practices.

- Knowledge
- Extensive experience in Application Support environments, with knowledge of ITIL V3 Service Management and enterprise‑wide IT services.
- Good understanding of Maximo Application Suite architecture, including Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes, containers, operators, pods, routes, persistent storage, certificates and environment configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Web Sphere, Web Sphere Liberty and Oracle/SQL database administration and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of Maximo Integration Framework MIF, Object Structures, Enterprise Services, Publish Channels, End Points, Cron Tasks and integration troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of Maximo configuration tools, including Application Designer, Workflow Designer, Automation Scripts, Escalations, Security Groups, Start Centers and system configuration.
- Working knowledge of MAS Mobile / Maximo Mobile configuration, mobile data sync, REST APIs, device troubleshooting and field user support.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and Dev Ops practices, including Jenkins, Git, Git Hub or equivalent source control, deployment automation and release management tools.
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning, Asset Management Systems, agile project management and solutions development methodologies.
Experience
- Proven experience working in complex multisite environments supporting business applications and real‑time implementation systems.
- Strong track record in support or operations environments, including incident, issue and SLA management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ support and/or implementation experience with Maximo Asset Management and associated systems.
- Experience with Maximo 7.6, MIF, Application Designer, Workflow Designer, Automation Scripts, JVM and Web Sphere configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting or implementing Maximo Application Suite, preferably MAS 8 or MAS 9, including Maximo Manage and MAS Mobile / Maximo Mobile.
- Experience supporting Maximo or MAS on Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes or containerised platforms would be highly desirable.
- Experience with Red Hat Linux support, including log analysis, service troubleshooting, file system checks, connectivity testing and environment configuration.
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases, including SQL queries, data validation, application troubleshooting and performance investigation.
- Experience with Java‑based enterprise applications, REST APIs, integrations, middleware and message‑based interfaces.
- Experience using Git, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for controlled deployments, configuration changes, code promotion and release activities.
- Experience supporting application upgrades, patching, environment refreshes, testing, deployment planning and production releases.
- Relevant Maximo experience in a transportation environment is desirable.
