Type of Role – Freelance
G2 are supporting a large IPP to recruit a Freelance Electrical Engineer to oversee specialised BESS construction projects located across North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Requirements:
- Must be a strong communicator in both German and English, written and verbally.
- A minimum of 10 years experience within electrical engineering positions.
- At least 2 years experience working on utility‑scale BESS.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, MV/LV distribution, grid connection, and protection.
- Confident reviewing and advising on technical documentation relating to electrical design, grid compliance, and installation quality.
Responsibilities:
- Verifying all electrical documentation
- Reviewing single‑line diagrams (SLDs) and protection concepts
- Working on specifications for electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear)
- Developing solutions for grid‑compliant connection
- Overseeing electrical work completed according to VDE/IEC standards and utility interface requirements
