Freelance Procurement Manager | Data Centre Construction | Germany
I'm currently working with a leading data centre developer involved in some of Germany's largest hyperscale developments. Due to continued growth, we are looking to speak with experienced Procurement Managers seeking a more strategic role with greater project-wide influence and team leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities across major data centre construction projects, managing supplier and subcontractor relationships from tender through to award.
- Provide commercial oversight across multiple work packages, maintaining a helicopter view of project delivery and supporting key project decisions.
- Manage and develop procurement teams whilst coordinating with construction, commercial, engineering, and project management stakeholders.
- Drive procurement strategy, contract negotiations, cost optimisation initiatives, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and handover phases.
Essential:
- Extensive experience as a Procurement Manager, Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement, contracts, commercial management, and cost control on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous experience leading procurement teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.
- Proven track record working with major contractors, developers, or EPC organisations.
- Fluent German and English.
Desirable:
- Experience on hyperscale data centre, mission-critical, infrastructure, energy, or industrial construction projects.
- Exposure to HV infrastructure, MEP systems, commissioning activities, and multi-contractor environments.
- Experience working on projects exceeding €500m in value.
- Degree qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
