- Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Data Center Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects across Frankfurt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing infrastructure, construction, fit-out, migration, and commissioning activities while coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment supporting critical infrastructure developments within one of Europe's leading data center hubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data center projects from initiation through to handover.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and technical teams.
- Oversee construction, M&E, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular project reporting.
- Manage change control processes and project governance requirements.
- Support vendor management and procurement activities where required.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience delivering data center projects as a Project Manager.
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure environments including:
- Power systems
- Cooling systems
- Network infrastructure
- Commissioning processes
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent English.
- Must hold a valid EU Passport.
- Eligible to work across the European Union without sponsorship.
Desirable
- PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data centers.
- German language skills.
- Background in construction, engineering, mission-critical facilities, or IT infrastructure projects.
