NDT Inspector to join a long-term project based in Ravensburg, Germany.
This position is ideally suited to inspectors from heavy engineering and manufacturing environments with extensive experience carrying out inspections on large fabricated, forged, and cast components. The client has placed a particularly strong emphasis on Ultrasonic Testing (UT) experience, which is considered the most critical aspect of the role.
The Role:
As an NDT Inspector, you will be responsible for performing a variety of non-destructive testing activities, ensuring products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
- Inspect welds, forgings, and castings on large-scale components.
- Complete NDT documentation, reports, and inspection records.
- Identify, record, and report non-conformances.
- Work closely with production, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Ensure all inspections are completed in line with relevant standards and procedures.
- ISO 9712 Level 2 UT (Ultrasonic Testing) certification.
- ISO 9712 Level 2 MT (Magnetic Particle Testing) certification.

- Castings
- Proven experience inspecting large fabricated, forged, and cast components.
- Previous experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of NDT reporting and quality documentation.
Client Priority
The client has specifically advised that the following criteria will be used as the primary screening
requirements:
- Strong Ultrasonic Testing (UT) experience on large components.
- ISO 9712 Level 2 certifications in UT, VT, PT, and MT.
- Multisector approvals covering Welds, Forgings, and Castings.
- Experience inspecting large fabricated, forged, and cast components.
- Ability to communicate effectively in German.
Experience within any of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:
- Hydropower
- Turbine Manufacturing
- Power Generation
- Forging Facilities
- Crane Operator's Licence
- Additional NDT certifications
- Experience working with overhead cranes and heavy components
