Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide process support, expertise, and guidance for new and existing installations.
  • Study customer needs, pain points and business challenges, and create customized sales proposals, following up with customers from award of purchase order to delivery of machines.
  • Obtain requests for proposals, review specifications, and determine scope of supply.
  • Support after‑sales service for GEA team members regarding customer support functions.
  • Provide input for ads and marketing strategies; market GEA Separator products by attending trade shows and seminars each quarter; make at least two technical or sales presentations per month.
  • Prepare technical proposals and presentations and submit to Sales Manager for review before sending to the customer or prospect.
  • Provide monthly sales project status reports covering project funding, win strategy, and competitive positioning to the assigned Director and Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Develop business and marketing plans for sales areas and make budget recommendations.
  • Support development and delivery of technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications and product training sessions.
  • Provide post‑sales support to customers, including technical troubleshooting and customer training to ensure satisfaction with the product or service.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical selling experience.
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience as a sales engineer selling capital equipment into engineering firms for chemical or pharmaceutical projects.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Customer and representative relationship building experience.
  • Frequent travel experience; position requires frequent travel with 2 – 3 hotel stays per week.
  • Knowledge of CRM and sales management tools.
  • Capital equipment sales experience.

Pay Range

The typical base pay range for this position will be communicated during the interview. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job‑related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards.
