MEP Construction Director to lead the delivery of a flagship hyperscale data centre project in the Netherlands.

The Opportunity

The business is seeking an accomplished

MEP Construction Director to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health works on a major hyperscale data centre development.

Working as part of the senior project leadership team, you will provide strategic direction across all MEP construction activities, ensuring safe, high‑quality and commercially successful project delivery.

You will lead multidisciplinary delivery teams, manage key client relationships and coordinate contractors, consultants and specialist supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all MEP construction activities across a major hyperscale data centre project.
• Lead multidisciplinary MEP delivery teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
• Develop and implement construction strategies to maximise programme certainty and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with project directors, commercial teams and design managers to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and specialist supply chain partners.
• Oversee commissioning strategy, quality assurance and project handover activities.
• Monitor programme performance, resource allocation and project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, health and safety legislation and company governance procedures.
• Support procurement strategies and commercial decision‑making throughout project delivery.
• Drive a culture of operational excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement across the project team.
• Required Experience & Background
• Proven experience as an

MEP Construction Director, MEP Project Director or Senior MEP Operations Leader within a Tier 1 contractor or major mission‑critical organisation.

• Extensive experience delivering hyperscale data centres or other technically complex mission‑critical projects .
• Strong background managing large multidisciplinary MEP teams on high‑value construction programmes.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical building services installation, commissioning and project delivery.
• Demonstrable success delivering large-scale projects safely, on programme and within budget.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing client relationships and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to lead complex construction programmes in fast‑paced, live project environments.
• Preferred Qualifications & Skills
• Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with CIBSE, CIOB, IET or an equivalent institution is advantageous.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing large project teams across multiple disciplines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on international data centre projects across Europe would be highly advantageous.
