Duties and Accountabilities:

  1. Build and maintain financial models, including financial projections.
  2. Analyze historical financial statements and prepare reports on the financial health and viability of a given company or project.
  3. Analyze financial projections and report on viability of businesses.
  4. Monitor operational and financial performance of client companies to evaluate risk and recommend proactive portfolio management actions and prepare regular portfolio reports.
  5. Conduct industry and market research to assist in IFC\’s business development efforts.
  6. Prepare presentations and other documentation as contributions to IFC\’s internal reporting and external communication, marketing and outreach.
  7. Build and maintain quality internal and external client relationships with a high level of responsiveness.
  8. Conduct mapping to assess business opportunities for IFC.
  9. Identify data collection needs to support the assessment of a given investment.
  10. Extract lessons from IFC\’s earlier investments or advisory mandates to provide input to the structuring of new transactions or monitoring of existing transactions.
  11. Participate in negotiations, as needed.

Selection Criteria

  1. A Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or another relevant field.
  2. 2-3 years work experience in a financial institution, particularly in investment projects.
  3. Ability to develop complex financial models.
  4. Ability to conduct company financial statement analysis.
  5. Proven aptitude in accounting, finance, financial modeling, DCF, scenario analysis, and comparable company analysis.
  6. Ability to conduct market and industry research and analysis.
  7. Ability to write and speak clearly in a logical, comprehensive yet concise manner.
  8. Proven attention to detail.
  9. Ability to analyze, distill and summarize large amounts of information.
  10. Ability to utilize graphics and tables to effectively present data.
  11. Ability to manage and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
  12. Basic understanding of how specific investments in different MAS industries impact economic, market, and social development.
  13. Highly motivated and committed to the highest ethical standards.
  14. Genuine commitment to development and to the World Bank Group\’s and IFC\’s mission, strategies and values.
  15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in another regional language is a plus.
