Summary
You will serve as a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist . This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition at management's discretion. GS11 - 74,678 (Step 1) - 97,087 (Step 10) GS12 - 89,508 (Step 1) - 116,362 (Step 10)
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Conducts and assists in safety audits/inspections of all WARC offices, laboratories, vehicles, shops, storage spaces, and gaging stations. Reviews and supports accident investigations and reporting. Provides supports to the Center staff, navigating accident procedures and policies Serves as primary safety training coordinator organizes and distributes safety information, maintaining Center Bureau Safety promotional programs. Maintains employee training records. Assists in maintaining applicable safety regulations, guidelines, manuals, safety plan, and policy documents. Maintains files on all organizational safety correspondence and information. Interpret and comminates safety policies to Center staff. Briefs Center management on safety recommendations. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
