  • Assess commercial viability, investment risks, and projected returns.
  • Prepare financial models, cash flow forecasts, and investment feasibility studies.
  • Evaluate lease agreements, capital expenditure requirements, and long-term financial commitments.

2. Restaurant Development & Construction Finance

  • Oversee financial budgets for restaurant construction, renovations, and fit-outs.
  • Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX), contractor payments, and construction-related financial commitments.
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and identify potential overruns.
  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, contractors, and external accountants.

3. Franchise Agreements & Financial Structuring

  • Review the financial and commercial terms of international restaurant franchise and licensing agreements.
  • Analyse royalty structures, development fees, minimum guarantees, and ongoing contractual obligations.
  • Work alongside legal advisors during franchise negotiations.
  • Evaluate the long-term profitability and financial implications of partnership agreements.

4. Financial Management & Cost Control

  • Review financial statements, management accounts, and operational performance.
  • Monitor operating costs, margins, profitability, and cash flow across restaurant operations.
  • Develop financial reporting systems, budgets, and forecasting processes.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
  • Oversee external accounting, tax, VAT, and audit service providers.

5. Strategic Financial Advisory

  • Provide financial guidance directly to senior management.
  • Prepare investment reports and financial presentations for shareholders and investors.
  • Support financing discussions with banks, investors, and commercial partners.
  • Establish financial controls and reporting structures as the company expands.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Swiss Certified Public Accountant, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Ideally 5–10+ years of experience in accounting, transaction advisory, audit, corporate finance, or financial management.
  • Previous experience at a Big Four accounting firm or comparable leading professional services firm in Zurich.
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting standards, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Experience in financial due diligence, investment analysis, and financial modelling.
  • Understanding of commercial leases, construction budgets, and corporate financial structures.
  • Hospitality, real estate, or restaurant industry experience is a strong advantage.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Fluent English; German is strongly preferred.
  • High levels of discretion, independence, analytical ability, and commercial judgment.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • An opportunity to help build and shape a growing Swiss hospitality company.
  • Direct collaboration with the Founder & CEO and senior industry advisors.
  • Involvement in high-profile international restaurant and hospitality developments.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, franchise negotiations, real estate transactions, and operational finance.
