Junior Accountant Job Summary We are looking for a detail oriented Junior Accountant to support accounting and finance for two legal entities.
The role includes Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), monthly and annual closing activities, banking transactions, compliance, and ERP transaction management.
Knowledge of Swiss accounting practices and SAP is required.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP)- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.- Ensure timely vendor payments and reconciliation of supplier accounts.- Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor queries.
Accounts Receivable (AR)- Issue customer invoices and track collections.- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.- Reconcile customer accounts.
General Accounting & Financial Closing- Perform accounting for two legal entities.- Support end-to-end month-end and year-end closing processes.- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and maintain books of accounts and support tax and audit requirements.- Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
Banking & Treasury- Execute banking transactions - payments, and fund transfers.- Perform reconciliation with banks for routine accounts.
Tax & Compliance- Prepare and file Swiss tax returns and declarations on time.- Support compliance with Swiss tax and accounting regulations during internal and external audits.
ERP & System Management- Create and maintain new transactions, master data, and accounting records in ERP.- Ensure accounting entries are processed within SAP.- Support system improvement process.
Adhoc Activities- Undertake any other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities assigned from time to time by Finance Manager or Controller.
Qualifications & Skills- Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.- 2+ years of accounting experience.- Solid understanding of AP, AR, and general accounting processes.- Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.- Knowledge of Swiss tax and experience with MS Office.- Good language skills in English and French (written and spoken).- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred- Experience working with multiple legal entities.- Exposure to Swiss accounting standards and compliance requirements.- Experience in a multinational environment.
