Career Services Advisor

Permanent contract / Bulle, Switzerland

Responsibilities:

Career and Internship Information, Advice and Guidance

  • Deliver general presentations for students on all campuses, as well as tutorials/workshops on specific areas including CV design, motivation letter correction, job search techniques, mock interviews and visas.
  • Counsel and advise students on all campuses in their active search for an internship and communicate effectively and regularly with students about their progress.
  • Provide guidance and advice on CV and motivation letter design, interview techniques, etc. as well as on visa procedures, as necessary.
  • Provide support to students during internships, liaising with employers when necessary.

Administration

  • Follow up on individual placements (verification, tracking, etc.).
  • Prepare required documents such as contracts and attestations as well as any other documents as necessary.
  • Ensure all student internships are properly registered and checked; and that their internships conform to the requirements set up by the CS and GIHE.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks including tracking, database management, correspondence, control of internship/job offers posted on internal site, statistics, sending relevant information to concerned stakeholders, collecting reports and information, and any other ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Represent Career Services in various academic panels related to student progression.

Events

  • Support team members in preparation of on-campus/online Career events, as required.
  • Manage the administration of our Career Services Portal in conjunction with other members of the department.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks, data collection for various stakeholders, etc.

Line Management Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Career Services Junior Advisor and/or Career Services trainee (as appropriate) on a daily basis.

Profile and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Human Resources or equivalent qualification (desirable).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French; any additional language is an advantage.
  • Similar experience in an educational environment is definitely a plus.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail, excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in an international environment.
  • Ability to work effectively at all times, particularly under pressure.
