Role: COBOL/COBOLD Expert

Location: Frankfurt, Rhine-Main Area

Type: Full remote, candidates must be in Europe already

Languages: German (B2); English (C2).

We are looking for an experienced Profile COBOL professional to join our team, where you will provide project-related support in the host environment. This position is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our business-critical systems, and you will play a vital role in the overall success of our projects. You will work closely with diverse teams, including software developers, system architects, and project managers, to deliver high-quality outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

1. Provide project-related support in the host environment, specifically with COBOL applications.
2. Collaborate with software development teams to analyze project requirements and deliver technical solutions.
3. Perform regular maintenance and updates on existing COBOL systems to ensure optimal performance.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to COBOL applications in a timely manner.
5. Participate in the design and implementation of new COBOL-based features and integrations.
6. Document all code changes and project-related activities for future reference and compliance purposes.
7. Assist in the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Qualifikation

• Several years of experience in host development (Cobol, OPC, JCL, JOGI)
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and creatively.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting COBOL applications.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and project management processes.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• SAP-FI knowledge is an advantage.
• English Fluency (C1 – mandatory).
• German Fluency (C2 – mandatory).
