The Senior Business Analyst leads the analysis and harmonization of business, legal, regulatory and operational requirements for the Global Intellectual Property Assignment Platform (GIPAP), working with multiple stakeholders to translate complex multi-jurisdictional requirements into business solutions that support global IP assignment and recordation services. Responsibilities Analyze and document the business, legal, regulatory and operational requirements governing assignment and recordation procedures for patents, trademarks, and industrial designs across jurisdictions. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and harmonize assignment and recordation processes and requirements to support a globally scalable solution. Lead consultations and coordinate engagement with IP offices, IP owners, practitioners, industry associations and other stakeholders to identify requirements, build consensus, facilitate adoption and support participation in the development and implementation of GIPAP. Translate complex multi-jurisdictional requirements into business capabilities, user journeys, user stories, data models and system requirements for technical delivery teams. Partner with business, legal and technical stakeholders to design, implement and continuously improve solutions that address global IP assignment and recordation needs. Coordinate the business aspects of solution delivery, including validation requirements, acceptance criteria, user acceptance testing and monitoring of expected business outcomes and benefits. Prepare analyses, recommendations and presentations for stakeholders and management, and monitor developments and best practices relevant to business analysis, digital service delivery and global IP administration. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Advanced university degree in IP law, information technology, or another closely related field. A first-level university degree, combined with two additional years of relevant experience beyond the requirement below, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is an asset. At least seven years of relevant professional experience, including in intellectual property administration. Proven experience leading business analysis, business transformation or digital modernization initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, jurisdictions and regulatory environments. Experience applying established business analysis methods and processes to assess complex requirements, design business solutions and support successful implementation. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and influencing delivery across business, legal and technical functions. Experience in IP assignment and recordation filing or management is desirable. Experience working in an international environment, including organizing and coordinating technical discussions and meetings at the international level is desirable. Experience using IP office online platforms for filings, registrations or other office actions is desirable. Proficiency in business process modeling tools and techniques is desirable. Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of another UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish is desirable. Excellent knowledge of intellectual property administration, with a strong understanding of global IP assignment processes. Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business, legal, regulatory and operational requirements and translate findings into practical solutions. Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and to deliver on parallel project milestones, in a timely and quality manner. Ability to assess solution options, evaluate proposals and formulate evidence-based recommendations aligned with organizational objectives and business requirements. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across cultures and regions to facilitate change and adoption. Strong business acumen and sound judgment, with the ability to balance business needs, legal requirements and implementation considerations. Ability to build and sustain effective partnerships in a multicultural environment, demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diversity. Ability to lead through influence, coordinate multidisciplinary contributions and drive collaboration toward shared outcomes in a complex international environment.
