WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?
In our team, you will provide support, develop solutions, and contribute to the monitoring, control, and planning activities for the European Columbus Module of the International Space Station (ISS) . This includes working closely with the ESA Flight Control Team (FCT) at the Columbus Control Centre (Col-CC) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, alongside roles such as the Flight Director (FD), STRATOS for system operations, and EPIC/COMET for mission planning.
This position is responsible for the following on-orbit operations of the Columbus Module for the ISS:
- Thermal Control (TCS)
- Electrical Power Distribution (EPDS)
- Data Monitoring (DMS)
- Communications (COMMS) systems
WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?
We are looking for Engineers with a background and interest in Human Space Flight/Space Operation.

- Engineering degree or equivalent University degree (M.Sc. or equivalent)
- Willingness to work shift for 24/7 support
- Ability to apply logical thought processes in analysing and troubleshooting complex systems
- Ability to work under stress
- Good team working and communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
We will also value:
- Previous experience and certification in Columbus operations
- Previous experience working in a shift pattern
- Previous experience handling time-critical, high impact situations
The position also requires the willingness to travel during the initial training phase to ESA’s European Astronaut Centre (EAC), in Cologne, Germany, and to NASA’s Johnson Space Centre (JSC), in Houston, USA.
