Accounting Specialist / Financial Accounting Analyst in Berlin

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist / Financial Accounting Analyst to maintain accurate financial records, support period-end closing, and analyze financial results. You will collaborate with Finance and business teams to ensure transactions are properly recorded and reporting deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports and investigate account movements and variances.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
• Maintain supporting documentation and assist with audits.
• Follow applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in financial accounting, general ledger management, or a related role.
• Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with applicable accounting standards, such as IFRS or local GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent credential are an advantage.
