Software Engineer III, Security and Privacy

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
• Experience developing APIs and integrating third-party services.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience or interest in programming languages, for example: Rust development, integrating Rust in existing C++ codebases, building static analysis tools, linters, or compilers implementing exploit mitigations or low-level systems features.
• Foundations in programming languages, compilers, static and dynamic analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new techniques for large-scale software systems across multiple product teams.
• Build partnerships within Google’s Memory Safety program and collaborate with industry and academia.
• Research and apply innovative memory safety techniques, including program analysis and machine learning.
