The Opportunity
Join a leading global asset management organisation and gain practical experience within its Liquid Investment Risk team.
You will work alongside approximately 40 risk professionals, contributing to daily risk monitoring, financial analysis and international projects.
With support from experienced colleagues and senior managers, you will develop your understanding of investment risk while gaining exposure to complex financial systems and industry-leading analytical tools.
Subject to performance, successful interns may be considered for a place on the organisation's graduate programme the following year.
The Team
The Liquid Investment Risk team provides independent risk oversight across a global range of investment funds, asset classes and strategies.
The team analyses financial data, monitors changing risk profiles and helps the organisation understand potential risks before they materialise.
You may also gain experience using specialist platforms such as Aladdin Explore to investigate data and support risk-management decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Risk Management Intern, you will
- Support the daily oversight of risk analytics for globally managed investment funds.
- Conduct risk assessments across different asset classes, investment strategies and funds.
- Review risk models and analyse model parameters and updates.
- Support global and local Risk Management projects.
- Review risk results and fund-risk profiles alongside senior risk managers.
- Analyse financial and risk data using specialist systems and programming tools.
- Collaborate with investment specialists, analysts and risk colleagues across locations including Luxembourg, Berlin, London, Hong Kong and New York.
What We're Looking For
You should be
- Currently studying economics, quantitative finance, mathematics or a related subject.
- Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for your work.
- Interested in financial markets, asset management and investment-risk management.
- Familiar with financial instruments such as equities, fixed-income securities and derivatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English; German language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
- Motivated by the opportunity to work within a global team.
Experience with Python, SQL or VBA would be particularly valuable.
