We are a 6-year-old startup entering a new scaling phase in Berlin-Teltow, working at the intersection of optical spectroscopy, industrial IoT, data science and cloud-native software.
The impact is significant: stopping unwanted industrial emissions could avoid an estimated 5–8% of global greenhouse gas emissions — roughly 3–4+ gigatonnes of CO₂e per year.
Our Product
We design and manufacture our own hyperspectral optical sensors and software, built around Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. These systems can detect and analyze gases from distances over 1 km, operating fully autonomously, 24/7. Our solutions deliver real-time situation assessment and are paving the way for a climate-neutral chemical industry through continuous, remote gas emission monitoring.
About the Role
As a Site Reliability Engineer, your mission is to keep our customer-facing systems running reliably and to make sure installations, operations, and support activities go smoothly. You will help maintain high uptime across our infrastructure—both on-premises in IT/OT environments and in the cloud—while improving monitoring, deployments, and operational processes as we scale.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, communicative person who brings energy, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership. We value someone who proactively follows up, asks the right questions, supports colleagues and customers, and goes the extra mile to ensure our systems are stable and our installations are successful—more than someone who simply has many years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve infrastructure at industrial customer sites and in the cloud, with a strong focus on reliability and high uptime
- Support customer installations and commissioning activities to ensure smooth, well-coordinated deployments
- Communicate clearly with customers, internal teams, and external partners during installation, troubleshooting, and support situations
- Monitor systems proactively, follow up on issues, and take ownership until problems are understood and resolved
- Automate deployments and monitoring (IaC, GitOps)
- Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure high system availability (24/7) (paid extra)
- Implement and monitor IT/OT security best practices (firewalls, VPNs, endpoint hardening)
- Support internal IT infrastructure and tooling
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, data scientists, software developers, and product teams
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational standards toward ISO27001 readiness
What we are looking for
- A motivated, energetic personality with a hands-on mindset and a strong desire to learn
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to coordinate with customers, colleagues, and technical partners
- Strong ownership: you follow up, document clearly, and go the extra mile to make sure systems are running well
- Practical experience in SRE, DevOps, or similar technical roles; motivation and attitude matter more to us than many years of experience
- Good Linux administration skills or a strong willingness to deepen them quickly
- Experience with, or interest in, automation tools such as Ansible, Docker, and GitHub Actions
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
- Comfortable working in hybrid IT/OT environments and around physical hardware
- Basic knowledge of networking and security concepts
- 2x / week in office (Berlin-Teltow)
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
