pGravis Robotics is a high-growth Series A start-up backed by SoftBank, bringing Physical AI to the construction industry, turning heavy construction machines into autonomous robots. /ppGravis began as an ETH Zurich spin-out, and our unique combination of learning-based automation and augmented remote control lets one operator safely conduct a fleet of earthmoving machines in a gamified environment. /ppBacked by deep robotics research and now deployed across multiple countries with leading construction and equipment partners, our team is rapidly growing to bring this technology to a trillion-dollar industry. /ppThe Gravis RACK is a machine-agnostic retrofit kit that adds autonomy to excavators and wheel loaders from 10 to 100+ tonnes: LiDAR and camera sensing, GNSS RTK, networking hardware and rugged edge compute that works offline. Paired with the Slate tablet and our Copilot software, it lets an operator run a machine manually, with AI assistance, or fully autonomously. /ppWe are looking for a manufacturing quality engineer to own the quality and reliability of the Gravis hardware package that turns regular excavators into awesome, autonomous machines. You will work with our engineering and production team in Zurich defining and implementing quality measures like incoming inspections, supply chain validations, failure analysis and product return teardowns to enable our custom AI hardware a safe and reliable operation of heavy machines. You are capable of working both independently and with others, and are intrinsically driven to solve challenging applied problems with a rigorous attention to detail and an exploratory imagination. /ppYou are our first quality hire. There is no dedicated quality team, no lab, and no playbook; you will design the test / fixture / process and then go build it. /pulliDefine what hardware quality means for Gravis from ground up /liliDesign and implement testing systems, jigs and fixtures from incoming inspection to product shipping /liliDocument failures, root causes and mitigations, build a failure database and review regularly with design and production /liliTeardown and analysis of field returns, drive corrective actions /liliOwn supplier quality: first article inspection, qualification, audits, and 8D follow-through /liliTighten drawings and specifications; critical characteristics, unambiguous acceptance criteria /liliHelp building our long-term reliability and environmental test strategy as we scale /li /ululliA university degree in mechanical, electrical, quality Engineering or equivalent practical experience /lili3+ years experience in quality / manufacturing engineering in low volume manufacturing /liliHands on failure analysis and teardowns /liliCAD knowledge for designing fixtures /liliExperience in hand metrology /liliSolid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems /liliGood command of English, both written and spoken /li /ululliExperience in GDT /liliExperience in SQL / python /liliExposure to environmental / accelerated lifetime testing (e.g. vibration, shock, ingress, UV) /liliFluency in Mandarin /liliOff-highway, agricultural, mining or other harsh-environment equipment /li /ulpThis is an opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and to be part of a company that is reshaping heavy construction. /ppGravis is an equal opportunity employer.
