GRESB, the global ESG benchmark for real assets, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated candidate to join the EMEA team as a Business Development Manager. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a mission-driven, high-growth stage organization that is paving the way for a more sustainable real asset sector. The role is based in Amsterdam or Berlin.

Your main responsibility is to develop and execute the business development plan for the German & DACH market. This will require a specific focus on attracting new Real Estate and Infrastructure Members (asset owners, fund managers, asset operators, consultants). In this role, you will liaise with functional internal teams, including Commercial, Member Relations, Member Success, Marketing & Communications, IT, and Product Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the business development plan for the DACH Region.
  • Increase Member base by identifying and managing a pipeline of prospects and sales opportunities.
  • Manage commercial relationships with existing GRESB Members in the DACH Region.
  • Build and establish productive relationships with broader sector of market-players and associations.
  • Partner with prospective Members to understand their business needs and objectives, feeding these into the product development process.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of market trends, business products, and value propositions.
  • Provide sales input on market needs and pricing to ensure product success.
  • Support the development of key accounts through email, phone, online and live presentations / demonstrations, and in-person meetings.
  • Represent GRESB at external events, conferences, industry working groups, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience and actual achievements of sales targets issues.
  • Experience within sustainability / ESG is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Real Estate and/or Infrastructure sector highly preferred.
  • Good industry network and the ability to develop this further.
  • University degree in a relevant field such as investment, business, economics, or sustainable finance is required. Advanced degrees in any of the same areas is very attractive.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-oriented and mission-driven environment. Must be able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple opportunity pursuits at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, commercial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the right to work in the chosen location.
  • Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
