About Us

We are a defense technology startup based in Berlin, building the next generation defense layer against aerial threats.

Our team develops mission-critical systems that combine hardware, software, sensing, and real-time AI/robotics to operate reliably in complex real-world environments.

Operating in stealth mode, we place strong emphasis on engineering rigor, real-world performance, and defense-grade system reliability.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Robotics Field Engineer to deploy, commission, operate, and validate our robotic systems in real-world environments.

You will be responsible for preparing systems for deployment, installing and configuring equipment at customer and test sites, troubleshooting technical issues, conducting field tests, and training operators and technical personnel.

This is a highly hands-on position combining robotics, software diagnostics, networking, and practical field operations.

You will work directly with complex hardware and software systems, ensuring that equipment operates reliably outside the laboratory.

As one of the company’s technical representatives in the field, you will work independently with customers, coordinate deployment activities, and provide structured feedback to our engineering teams in Berlin.

The role is based in Berlin and involve frequent international travel, including deployments to customer sites, controlled test ranges, and operational environments.

Travel frequency will depend on project and deployment schedules.

The position does not involve frontline operations.

We are looking for a technically versatile, reliable, and independent individual who enjoys working with real hardware, solving practical problems, and interacting directly with end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Deployment & Commissioning
  • Prepare robotic systems and associated equipment for field deployment.
  • Install, configure, and commission systems at customer locations and test sites.
  • Set up computing hardware, sensors, network connections, and supporting equipment.
  • Perform system bring-up, configuration checks, and functional validation.
  • Verify that systems operate correctly before handover to customers or operators.
  • Maintain deployment checklists, configuration records, and commissioning documentation.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
  • Diagnose hardware, software, and networking issues during field operations.
  • Troubleshoot Linux-based systems using command-line tools, system logs, and diagnostic utilities.
  • Investigate ROS2 communication issues, connectivity problems, and system integration faults.
  • Perform basic electrical diagnostics using measurement equipment.
  • Collect diagnostic information, reproduce issues where possible, and identify likely root causes.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to the appropriate engineering teams.
  • Support remote engineering teams by providing accurate logs, measurements, and observations.
  • Field Testing & Performance Validation
  • Support and execute structured field-testing activities.
  • Validate system functionality and performance under realistic operating conditions.
  • Follow established test procedures and document deviations or unexpected behavior.
  • Collect system logs, sensor data, telemetry, and operational observations.
  • Identify reliability, usability, and integration issues during testing.
  • Prepare structured test reports and communicate findings to engineering teams.
  • Support iterative system improvements through practical field feedback.
  • Customer Support & Operator Training
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact during assigned deployments.
  • Train customer operators and technical personnel in system setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations and explain system functionality.
  • Support customers during initial system operation and evaluation.
  • Gather operator feedback and identify practical improvements to system usability and deployment procedures.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to both engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Field Operations & Logistics
  • Prepare and organize equipment, tools, spare parts, and supporting infrastructure for deployments.
  • Coordinate technical setup activities with customers and local personnel.
  • Transport, assemble, and prepare equipment in outdoor environments.
  • Work at controlled test ranges, customer facilities, and operational sites.
  • Perform pre-deployment and post-deployment equipment inspections.
