Overview

In this role, you lead advanced design and computational optimization of RNA therapeutics, focusing on siRNA to enable gene knockdown and regulatory RNA strategies. You will integrate RNA biology with oligonucleotide chemistry to drive programs from discovery toward clinical development. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to inform decision-making and accelerate sequence–chemistry optimization at scale. This is a chance to shape transformative RNA therapies for pain and related neurological conditions.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Lead design and computational optimization of RNA therapeutics (siRNA)
  • Define and prioritise target sites using sequence, RNA accessibility, structure, and cross-species data
  • Drive design–test–learn cycles by integrating sequence, chemistry, and biology data
  • Develop and apply computational workflows (Python or R) for scalable oligonucleotide design
  • Co-optimise sequence, chemical modifications, and delivery with chemists and delivery scientists
  • Lead or contribute to discovery programs progressing molecules toward candidate profiling and clinical development

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • PhD in relevant discipline
  • >10 years in industry with at least 5 years in therapeutic antisense or siRNA design and optimisation
  • Strong computational skills with scripting/workflow experience (Python or R)
  • Experience designing siRNA for CNS and systemic delivery with robust in vivo activity
  • Track record in advancing programs to candidate stage and toward clinical development
  • Deep understanding of oligonucleotide optimisation and risk assessment across discovery to late-stage development
  • Experience delivering siRNA therapeutics in liver and CNS indications is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a matrixed environment
  • Collaborative teamwork
  • Strong problem-solving
  • Independence and ownership
  • Python
