Junior Data Quality Analyst

Junior Data Quality Analyst

München Vollzeit Kein Homeoffice möglich
Gulf Associates
We are seeking a Junior Data Quality Analyst to support our commercial advisory work for a Munich-based industrial client. In this role, you will help ensure the information we use to support complex investment decisions is accurate and reliable. As a fully remote team member, you will contribute to engagements where ground reality and commercial judgment are prioritized over abstract theory. You will work alongside senior partners who are involved in every step of the process, from initial research to final negotiation support.
Gulf Associates provides advisory services focused on partnership decisions and capital deployment. We work with family groups and sovereign entities on high-stakes tasks like joint ventures and new market entry. Because these environments operate on a specific logic where state capital often sits inside private deals, our work depends on the accuracy of the data we collect. This role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of that information. The position is full-time and provides a competitive salary that is attractive for the entry-level market.
What you will do
  • Audit and clean data sets related to counterparties and market actors to ensure the highest levels of accuracy for client reports.
  • Monitor various data streams for inconsistencies or errors that could impact the commercial advice provided to our clients.
  • Conduct targeted research to verify facts and cross-reference multiple sources of information regarding competitor behavior.
  • Organize and maintain internal databases used for scenario work and capital deployment strategies for our Munich-based industrial client.
  • Prepare clear, concise summaries of data findings to assist the advisory team in developing client positions.
  • Collaborate with associates to refine data collection methods and research processes for the specific territory involved.
  • Identify patterns in counterparty activity by performing rigorous data tracking and historical analysis.
  • Support the preparation of evidence-based reports that reflect how competitors are behaving in the market right now.
What you bring
  • A strong logical approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in how commercial deals are structured.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to repetitive research and verification tasks.
  • The ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written English without using corporate jargon.
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and data tools, along with a willingness to learn more advanced systems.
  • A grounded perspective that values evidence and ground reality over theoretical or generic consultancy models.
  • The self-discipline required to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.
  • A background in economics, business, or statistics, either through university studies or related projects.
  • Curiosity about how different markets operate and how state and private interests interact in complex deals.
What we offer
  • A fully remote work arrangement that offers professional flexibility and autonomy.
  • Direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the commercial logic behind multi-million dollar investments.
  • A professional environment that values quality of thought and accuracy over the sheer volume of output.
  • The opportunity to work on a significant project for a major Munich-based industrial client.
  • Competitive pay for an entry-level role within the commercial advisory sector.
Working at Gulf Associates
Our firm operates on the belief that commercial judgment is more valuable than standard consultancy reports. We avoid the common pitfalls of global corporate entities: instead, we focus on the specific logic and ground realities of the markets where our clients operate. Our culture is direct and honest, prioritizing the actual results of an engagement, whether that is a signed agreement or an operational launch. We hold a small book of active engagements to ensure senior partners remain involved in the work from start to finish. For someone starting their career, this means a chance to see how high-stakes decisions are actually made and how data supports successful outcomes in the room.
We look for individuals who are comfortable being measured on the results of their work. The role of a Junior Data Quality Analyst is to provide the bedrock of verified information that our partners use during regulator conversations and negotiations. By providing clear and reliable data, you enable the firm to take positions that a client can actually act on. Accuracy in this role prevents costly mistakes and ensures that our advice remains rooted in the reality of counterparty behavior. Successful team members are those who take pride in the precision of their research and understand the weight that their findings carry in a commercial context.
