We are looking for a Project Management Associate to support our advisory team on a high-stakes engagement for a major client. Our client is a Berlin-based industrial technology firm that is currently evaluating complex entry strategies and partnership decisions in new territories. This role is central to our ability to coordinate commercial research, monitor counterparty behaviors, and maintain the steady flow of information required for senior decision-makers to act with confidence. This is a permanent, full-time position that is performed fully remote, allowing you to contribute from your own location while working closely with our senior partners.
What you will do
Gulf Associates operates with a specific focus on commercial reality. We are not a traditional broad-market consultancy: we are a specialized firm that provides direct decision support to chief executives and sovereign entities. We believe that the most valuable advice comes from being in the room where the logic of a deal is actually settled. Our culture is grounded in honesty and directness. We value associates who can look at a set of facts and provide a clear, unvarnished summary of what those facts mean for a client's position.
Because we remain a senior-led firm with a small book of active engagements, every member of our team has a clear view of the impact of their work. We do not value activity for its own sake. Instead, we focus on the results that follow our advice, whether that is a successful joint venture, a strategic entry, or a capital deployment. You will be expected to think critically about every task and to understand why the work matters to the final outcome. We offer a space where intellectual honesty and commercial curiosity are the primary drivers of success.
What you will do
- Coordinate the daily requirements of active client engagements, ensuring all project milestones are tracked and met.
- Conduct targeted research into specific market players and counterparties to understand their current commercial behaviors.
- Assist in drafting position papers and briefing notes that summarize high-level commercial logic for our clients.
- Monitor updates regarding local regulations and sovereign entity activities that may influence a partnership or investment.
- Maintain project logs and action items during internal strategy sessions and external negotiation support.
- Organize the delivery of commercial evidence and data points for use in live negotiations.
- Prepare summary reports on scenario work, helping to visualize the possible outcomes of different investment decisions.
- Work across time zones to ensure that project documentation is current and accessible to the senior team at all times.
- A strong background in research and analysis, with the ability to distinguish ground reality from theoretical models.
- Excellent writing skills, characterized by the ability to explain complex commercial situations in plain, direct English.
- Natural curiosity about how large-scale investments and partnerships are actually structured and settled.
- Disciplined organizational habits, specifically a talent for tracking many moving parts without losing sight of the core objective.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive commercial data and partnership details.
- A preference for logical reasoning and evidence over standard corporate jargon or generic strategy frameworks.
- High digital fluency and the self-discipline required to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Basic familiarity with commercial terms and an interest in how state capital and private interests interact in the market.
- Full-time employment with a fully remote work structure, providing flexibility and autonomy.
- Direct exposure to the work of senior partners and the opportunity to see how high-stakes commercial judgment is applied.
- The chance to work on complex, real-world problems for a significant Berlin-based industrial client and other sovereign entities.
- A professional environment that values clear thinking and honest appraisal over high-volume output or administrative fluff.
- Paid compensation that is competitive for the role and reflects the professional standards expected of our team.
