We are looking for a Scrum Master Intern to support our internal project teams and assist on a key engagement with a major logistics partner. Gulf Associates focuses on commercial judgment rather than generic strategy models: we advise clients on complex investments and partnership decisions where the ground reality is the only thing that matters. In this role, you will help maintain the flow of work for a team that supports this logistics entity, ensuring that our internal processes remain responsive to the client's needs. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from any location while gaining direct exposure to the logic of high stakes commercial environments.
What you will do
Working here is different from the experience at a large, global consultancy firm. We prioritize substance over presentation and outcomes over output. Our culture is direct, professional, and senior-led: our partners are involved in every step of the work, from initial research to the final negotiation room. We do not believe in theoretical reports that sit on a shelf. Instead, we produce positions that our clients can act on immediately. Because we hold a small book of active engagements, every team member has a visible impact on the success of our projects. We value people who are self-directed, honest about what they see in the data, and focused on the practical reality of how business is conducted in the territory.
What you will do
- Facilitate daily sync meetings for the advisory team to ensure everyone is aligned on the latest research and client requirements regarding our logistics partner.
- Manage and update project tracking boards to reflect the current status of research tasks, counterparty analysis, and decision support documents.
- Help identify and resolve process blockers that could delay the delivery of internal briefings or client positions.
- Support the team in refining their workflow, moving away from rigid theoretical frameworks toward a more practical approach to task management.
- Organize and document key takeaways from internal strategy sessions to ensure no detail regarding counterparty behavior is missed.
- Coordinate the timing of internal reviews to ensure senior partners have the bandwidth to provide their input before major client milestones.
- Gather basic data on team velocity and task completion to help the firm plan for upcoming engagements and internal resource needs.
- Participate as a silent observer in certain high level meetings to understand how process facilitates the development of commercial judgment.
- A foundational interest in project management frameworks and a willingness to adapt those methods to a specialized advisory setting.
- Strong organizational habits and the discipline to manage your own schedule in a fully remote work environment.
- Clear, direct communication skills: you can explain a complex situation in a few simple sentences without using unnecessary jargon.
- Commercial curiosity and an interest in how large scale deals, joint ventures, and capital deployments are executed in the market.
- Natural attention to detail: you notice when a deadline is approaching or when a task description is missing critical context.
- Practicality and a focus on outcomes: you understand that a process is only useful if it helps the team deliver better results for the client.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion, as much of our work involves sensitive partnership decisions.
- A collaborative mindset that values listening and observation as much as active facilitation.
- A paid internship with a monthly stipend that is highly competitive for the current market and seniority level.
- The flexibility of a fully remote role, providing you the autonomy to manage your workspace and day.
- Direct mentorship from senior partners who value ground reality and commercial logic over corporate fluff.
- Experience working on an engagement for a major logistics leader, providing insight into how large organizations make partnership decisions.
