Scrum Master Internship

We are looking for a Scrum Master Intern to help organize and coordinate our project workflow during a period of complex advisory work. Gulf Associates specializes in commercial judgment and high-stakes decision support, moving away from the theoretical reports common in the consulting world. Currently, our team is providing support for a partner in Berlin on a specific commercial engagement that requires careful coordination between several internal workstreams. This internship is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to a professional advisory team from your own environment.
The role of a Scrum Master at our firm is about more than just managing a schedule. It is about ensuring that our research and advisory staff stay aligned with the ground reality of the markets we analyze. You will help us maintain a clear view of our objectives, ensuring that senior partners have the data and support they need to provide actionable advice to our clients. This is a chance to see how investment decisions and joint ventures are actually built, moving beyond academic project management into a commercial setting.

What you will do

• Facilitate regular team syncs and planning sessions to ensure that everyone is focused on the most immediate commercial priorities.
• Help maintain and refine our internal task boards to ensure they accurately reflect the current state of our advisory projects.
• Identify and document potential blockers early, working with senior associates to find practical ways to keep work moving forward.
• Support the team in adhering to established project workflows while maintaining the flexibility needed to react to new market data.
• Gather and organize internal progress data to assist partners in reviewing team performance against client commitments.
• Organize feedback sessions to help the team identify ways to improve our internal coordination and remote collaboration.
• Assist in the preparation of internal project summaries that highlight key milestones and upcoming commercial deadlines.
• Work closely with our research staff to ensure that data collection efforts are sequenced correctly to meet our reporting cycles.

What you bring

• A foundational understanding of Agile principles or Scrum frameworks, typically gained through university studies or independent learning.
