ppbJob Title: /b /ppSenior Risk Officer - Natgas /ppbContract Type: /b /ppbTime Type: /b /ppFull time /ppbJob Description: /b /ppThe Natgas Senior Risk Officer is a member of the Risk team, reporting to the Head of Risk Officers Power Gas. /ppHe/She will be responsible to measure, analyse, monitor the positions and PL, challenge assumptions taken by front-office and will be in charge for delivering reports and high-quality digital tools to improve decision-making and risk management. /ph3Main Responsibilities /h3ulliAnalyze, model, and report market risk for all trading activities. Assess and monitor physical and financial trades. /liliAnalyze mark-to-market valuations, risk positions, basis changes, curves and volatilities and P/L results daily. /liliChallenge assumptions taken by traders /liliDevelop and maintain risk reporting/analytics to communicate position, P/L and market risk to traders and management. /liliCoordinate and review deal and price in trading system by performing deal check, price validation, curve update, and data reconciliation. Monitor timely deal capture, internal trading limits, and risk policy requirements to ensure the representativeness and integrity of transactions in the trading system. /liliProvide critical thinking around risk reporting processes, quantification, and analysis of commodity exposure and forward price movements for trading activities. /liliMaintain, enhance, and review risk models. Test new risk calculations, evaluate model assumptions against fundamentals, and communicate suggested modeling/valuation enhancements to achieve better valuation and risk quantification. /liliCommunicate effectively with Front Office, Operation, Trade Support, Finance and IT team on inputs and assumptions. /liliWork closely with Traders to quantify and explain the sources of risk in their portfolios. /lilContribute to the reporting of Trading Result/ Position to Senior management. Responsible for monthly translation into accounting of trading results.liPrepare various reports and analysis for publishing internally and to the Management Board as the case may be. /liliWork closely with Back Office, Finance, Credit, Legal Compliance, Business Unit Control to ensure best control practices, operational efficiency, and policy/limit compliance. /liliCoordinate with Compliance to ensure compliance requirements are met. /liliSupport, identify, and assist in implement of process improvement, from system testing and implementations to desk level process. /liliIdentify and communicate operational risk, define risk mitigating measures and priorities. /liliMonth end and year end reconciliations with finance and external auditors as required. /liliBack up / support for other desk's Risk officers as the case may be. /li /l /ulh3Profile/Key Skills /h3pThe individual should have the following experience: /pulliUniversity degree, preferably in Computing, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Finance in a top ranked University /liliMastery of analytics tools and technologies. /liliMinimum 5 years in the commodity trading business, preferably within a major trading house or utility company. /liliExperience in valuation of European Natgas positions and assets (storages, pipelines, cables, flexible products, power plant), experience in booking and operating assets is a plus. /liliWeather products and bio-methane experience is a plus /liliFX positions understanding is a must /liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills /liliEntrepreneurial spirit, naturally curious and proactive, /liliEager to learn and ability to work with limited supervision. /liliExcellent attention to detail; rigorous and meticulous, /liliHigh degree of accuracy and efficiency under set deadlines /liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team. /liliStrong communication and interpersonal skills /liliComprehensive understanding of risk management methodologies and valuation models /liliProficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA, and other data analysis tools (Python and SQL is a plus) /liliGood knowledge of Access and SQL Server /liliFluent in English, both written and spoken, French and/or any other European language is a plus. /liliPosition based in London or Geneva /li /ulbOur people make all the difference in our success. /b /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
