We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Project Development to lead and drive our solar project development initiatives in Germany. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of solar energy projects, from site identification and acquisition to securing permits and achieving financial close. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, and a proven track record of managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement the company’s solar project development strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in Germany.
• Lead and mentor the project development team to achieve project milestones and deliverables.

Project Development:

• Oversee site identification, land acquisition, and feasibility studies for new solar projects.
• Manage the permitting process, ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
• Coordinate grid connection applications and liaise with relevant stakeholders to secure approvals.
• Ensure all projects meet technical, financial, and operational requirements.

Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners and consultants.
• Work closely with the finance team to evaluate project economics and ensure profitability.
• Secure project financing through partnerships, investors, and lenders.
• Monitor budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Market Insight and Advocacy:

• Stay abreast of policy developments, market trends, and emerging technologies in the renewable energy sector.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen its market position.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, particularly within solar development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of German renewable energy policies, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong network within the energy sector, including relationships with authorities, grid operators, and financial institutions.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex project portfolios.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in German and English is required.
