As a Mobile Engineering Lead at Haiilo, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of our mobile applications, ensuring they align with our mission of fostering connectivity and engagement within organizations. You will lead a team of talented engineers, guiding them in the design and implementation of innovative mobile solutions that enhance user experience and contribute to our overall goal of employee empowerment. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for creating meaningful connections through technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to build vibrant mobile experiences that help employees engage with their organizations more effectively.

What we are looking for:

• Proven Experience: 6+ years in native mobile development (iOS and/or Android) with at least 2 years in a lead/mentoring role
• Architecture & Framework Mastery: Deep expertise in modern mobile architectures (MVVM / VIPER) and frameworks (SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform)
• Leadership & Collaboration: Strong track record of leading teams, guiding technical decisions and working cross-functionally with Product and Design
• Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken) to lead distributed teams and influence stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Mobile Engineering function: Co-Own the strategy, vision, and execution of Haiilo’s mobile platforms (iOS, Android & shared Kotlin Multiplatform)
• Drive architecture & scalability: Make high-impact architectural decisions, evolve frameworks and ensure long-term maintainability, performance and reliability
• Enable and grow the team: Mentor, coach, and empower mobile engineers across levels, fostering a strong feedback culture and supporting career development
• Cross-functional leadership: Represent mobile engineering in product discovery, Shape Up planning and company wide technical discussions
• Raise the bar for quality: Champion mobile UX best practices, testing automation, CI/CD improvements and ensure high standards in delivery
• Strategic partner: Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Backend to align mobile initiatives with Haiilo’s intranet product vision and customer impact
• Community and chapter leadership: Act as the voice for mobile excellence across the company, sharing learnings, documentation and contributing to company-wide engineering standards

What we offer:

Remote/hybrid role: We value flexibility and teamwork. If you live within a commutable distance from one of our office locations, we require you to work on-site at least one day per week, with Wednesdays as the designated in-office day. While Wednesday is the minimum, we recommend spending 2 (or more) days in the office each week. For those further away, we look forward to seeing you two days per month during our team events to foster collaboration and team spirit
