In Market Category Demand Planner (m/w/d)
delivers all Demand Planning activities for all channels/accounts across the Category in cooperation with Commercial and wider Supply Chain. Responsible for delivering an unconstrained and consensus forecast managing the SFA and SFB to target. The role requires a high degree of cross-functional collaboration, market understanding and intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the monthly unconstrained forecast using insights from promotional plans, A&P, NPI and market intelligence.
Apply analytical thinking to assess the baseline forecast and enrich it appropriately for the full forecast horizon of 36 months. Challenges assumptions and drives alignment across functions to reach the volume forecast.
Leads defined activities within the IBP cycle. Owns the Monthly Cross Functional Enrichment meeting to agree volume enrichments based on defined activities and insights. Maintains list of risks and opps with probability and record of forecast inclusion. Required to represent portfolio and explain forecast assumptions in Cluster DRM. Uses segmentation to focus effort on priority SKUs and customers which have the biggest growth impact for the Cluster. Ensures that segmentation is aligned with commercial and OU QSCP to bring E2E consistency. Collaborate with demand forecaster to maintain masterdata and history for statistical forecasts. Work together to generate the most accurate baseline forecast as a start point. Review historical sales trends, and past events. Identify demand drivers including promotions, competitor activity, innovation and category growth, to enrich the baseline forecast provided by the Demand Forecaster Maintains a library of past promotions and expected vs actual uplifts. Together with commercial, agrees future promotional volumes and dates. Ensures this is accurately reflected in the unconstrained forecast. Review supply constraints and uses commercial inputs such as stock in trade to develop the consensus forecast. Manages allocation process in collaboration with commercial. Provides input to pre DRM of gap to target. Prioritise actions to close gaps through close collaboration with market teams and Hub Supply Planners Submits the unconstrained and consensus forecast on time. Is able to clearly articulate forecast drivers, month on month changes, and key risks and opps. Guide and coach more junior planners, ensuring consistency, quality, and continuous improvement across brand-level planning. Act as the escalation point for operational issues and strategic decisions. Foster a high-performance culture and support onboarding and capability development. Work closely with finance to drive volume-to-value alignment Metrics: Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, Forecast Value Add
Qualifications & Experience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field
Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
4 years + Supply Chain Experience
Ability to analyse and interpret data objectively
Ability to communicate complex information and select key facts from multiple sources.
Strong stakeholder management
E2E mindset
Able to translate business activities into supply chain impacts.
Can identify and implement process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience identifying, testing, and scaling new digital growth opportunities, including new audiences, platforms, partners, or business models
Understanding of sales / commercial processes
Understanding of supply chain processes with a focus on Planning and IBP/ S&OP
Ability to negotiate and work cross-functionally
