A fast-growing global data centre operator is looking for a Critical Facilities Shift Manager to join their Frankfurt team. You'll oversee all engineering assets on-site, ensuring service providers and contractors deliver compliant, high-quality work while leading a shift team through a 24/7 operations model.
This is a genuine step up for someone ready to move from hands-on technical work into leadership, overseeing planned and unplanned activity, driving root cause analysis on incidents, and shaping how the shift team performs day to day. You'll be the person holding the standard for safety, compliance, and delivery on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Escalate and communicate incidents to nominated persons per procedure
- Oversee planned and unplanned activities, ensuring timely attendance by the 24/7 team
- Support root cause analysis of incidents alongside service providers and contractors
- Assist with planning for projects, planned maintenance, and shift workflows
- Report on health and safety aspects particular to shift duties, including PTW, isolation systems, and RAMS
- Ensure shift engineers undertake work tasks safely and as directed
Skills/Must have
- Multi-skilled, mechanical/electrical, with knowledge of UPS, generators, and power distribution
- HV switching experience with a current HV training certificate
- Qualified as an electrical or mechanical engineer to current standards
- Good leadership and management skills
- English fluent; German ideal but not mandatory
