Our client, one of the global innovative leaders in the FinTech space, is looking to hire a Government Relations Director EMEA in their European headquarters in Berlin, Germany. This is an excellent career opportunity in a world leading FinTech company. Across the EMEA region, you will be responsible for anticipating and assessing the impact of relevant regulatory and legislative developments and proactively identify and improve opportunities for the company to influence their development and business objectives. In this role you will be working closely with the VP Government Relations and the regional government relationship team to develop and implement business-driven engagement with policymakers, business leaders and external stakeholders at the EU level.
Government Relations Director responsibilities will include:
- Develop advocacy plans to support or oppose emerging public policy and undertake the execution of the plans.
- Strengthen and or develop relationships with leader-level government officials, Members of legislatures, high-value trade associations, key representatives of the NGO communication and US Embassies in EMEA countries.
- Provide timely, updates on specific policy developments that are tailored to business concerns.
- Identify government-based obstacles, highlight negative impacts as well as opportunities built and for their EMEA business.
- Facilitate and support the participation of the company’s senior executives in policy-shaping global events.
The ideal Government Relations Director candidate would bring:
- Strong understanding of the governance environment in Europe and key EMEA countries.
- Relevant experience in a government relations role in FinTech, Financial Services, Insurance or banking.
- Strong track record of implementation of sophisticated strategies and tactics that involve the diverse public, not-for-profit, and business partners.
- Ability to handle diverse types of information and distill the information in verbal and written form for both internal and external audiences.
