What is the fastest way to route a shipment of pharmaceuticals from Daegu, Korea to Kumasi, Ghana?
How can we ensure that our vessels on the Far East to Mediterranean services are arriving on time under consideration of quality, costs and environmental aspects?
Should we supply empty reefer containers for the cherry season in Chile rather from North America or from Europe?
In the exciting environment of global trade, questions like this shape our business. The Market Intelligence team as part of the Data Insights & AI department designs and builds analytics solutions to provide insightful answers on market developments to our colleagues worldwide. We ensure company-wide availability of market supply, demand and competitor data and provide market insights to the organization.
We work in small, cross-functional teams jointly with specialists across the business. You share an office with a diverse team of likeminded Data Scientists, Visualization Experts, Data Warehouse Developers and colleagues with in-depth knowledge about our business.
Responsibilities

  • As a member of our team, you will play a key role in designing and implementing impactful datasets that empower the business to make data-driven decisions
  • You will develop, optimize, and maintain robust market data pipelines that enhance operational efficiency and provide valuable insights
  • Working closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and Visualization Experts, you\’ll ensure we tackle the right challenges and apply the most effective technologies
  • As part of our Data Engineering Community, you will actively contribute to advancing our practices in areas such as testing and performance optimization
  • Your responsibilities will also include implementing quality monitoring processes, maintaining and debugging code, and participating in international project teams to drive innovation and consistency across our global initiatives

Qualifications

  • Passion for Global Logistics: You are excited about applying your technical and analytical skills to the world of dynamic world of international trade
  • Bachelor\’s or master\’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven technical expertise:
    • Experience with Databricks or Snowflake, as well as in Spark, Python, R, or other programming languages and frameworks relevant to data modeling and transformation
    • SQL proficiency and experience in modeling principles, database management, or similar
    • Experience in handling structured data (e.g., CSV) and semi-structured data (e.g., JSON), ensuring efficient data processing and integration
    • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaborative mindset: You thrive in international, cross-functional project teams and value open communication and mutual support
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in English – a key asset in our global, fast-paced environment
