Your role:
Our Strategy Office, which we have been building up over the last years with new colleagues from management consulting and experienced shipping experts develops long-term strategies and supports implementation projects that have a significant influence on the future direction of Hapag-Lloyd AG. The issues addressed by the team range from evaluating opportunities and charting strategic options to planning and managing strategy processes and implementation projects, as well as providing in-house advice and support to our top management. Developing top talent and giving learning opportunities is also high on our agenda.
Your responsibilities:
- Run project modules or contribute to important workstreams as part of larger strategy projects, e.g. transformation programs, M&A, post-merger integration
- Prepare qualitative and quantitative analyses, diagnose complex issues and seek creative and innovative solutions shaping Hapag-Lloyd\’s future
- Support and work with project stakeholders, e. g. Senior Hapag-Lloyd managers, external consultants and advisors, in a true “leading from behind” manner
- Create high visibility and control on ongoing strategy or transformation activities, by setting up and leading project governance
- Contribute to Hapag-Lloyd thought leadership on major strategic topics, in commercial and operational matters, in competitor reviews and market analyses
Your profile:
- University degree, e. g. in economics, logistics, finance, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable subject (or equivalent education) with excellent results
- (First) project experience in managing, planning and implementing projects and leading project teams
- Goal-focused, hard-working person – with the ability to get things done
- Very strong and independent analytical thinker with a systematic and inventive mindset and a business sense
- Strong oral and written communication skills and experience in communicating with various audiences including top management – in a collaborative spirit, but with the ability to push back appropriately if required
- (First) full-time work experience in strategy or transformation programs, M&A (due diligence and deal phase) and/or post-merger integration process management
- High level of spoken and written English language skills
