The Hapimag Resort Hörnum on Sylt is situated in the heart of a unique, unspoilt dune landscape in the south of the island, just a few minutes’ walk from the wide sandy beach. Featuring comfortable holiday apartments, the resort also boasts a spacious wellness area and a range of dining options typical of the island.Our resort is looking for a dedicated individual to join our maintenance team as a property maintenance technician specialising in painting (f/m/d) for a varied role.
What you can expect
- Carrying out professional painting, wallpapering and varnishing work, as well as renovations in the holiday apartments, public areas and staff accommodation
- Maintenance and upkeep of outdoor areas and green spaces (standard gardening tasks, lawn mowing, hedge and tree trimming)
- Monitoring and sharing responsibility for the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of all building services systems
- Carrying out ad hoc and emergency repairs on call, as well as taking part in the regular on-call rota
- Independently troubleshooting faults and ensuring the systems remain operational
- A highly varied role involving cross-departmental support in logistics and infrastructure
What you bring along
- Training in a trade (e.g. as a painter, varnisher or gardener) is welcome but not essential – motivated career changers with good manual skills and practical experience are very welcome
- Enjoyment of varied work and versatility in manual tasks (painting & gardening)
- An independent and goal-oriented approach to work
- A friendly and reliable personality with good manners
- Good command of German for communicating within the team and with guests
- Willingness and flexibility to take on on-call duties
- Familiarity with using a computer and standard software programmes
