About the Role

This role involves leading a regional EMC validation team and managing the operations of the EMC laboratory.

The regional team is responsible for executing regional and global projects, ensuring EMC validation is delivered on time, with the right quality, and at the lowest cost.

Your Team : Up to 8+ direct reports, including engineers and technicians.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a regional EMC validation team and supervise EMC lab operations to ensure regional projects and tasks are completed within scope, time, and budget.
  • Manage and escalate critical customer issues by involving the correct teams and removing roadblocks.
  • Control EMC validation-related spending and resource allocation.
  • Ensure adherence to global EMC validation processes and work procedures locally.
  • Improve EMC lab execution and efficiency using metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify workforce resources, capital equipment, facilities, and other expenses for annual budget planning.
  • Develop performance objectives, monitor performance, and conduct evaluations for all FTEs and contractors.
  • Plan, monitor, and adjust staff workload and assignments to meet HARMAN and customer requirements on time, within quality standards, and budget.
  • Support initiatives driving the global EMC and Product Reliability strategy.
  • Maintain and obtain required OEM approvals, accreditation, and ISO 17025 certification.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of EMC qualification experience.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience within EMC qualification.
  • Experience setting up EMC validation labs and obtaining customer accreditations.
  • Strong EMC knowledge in automotive industry, with a good understanding of electronics and telecommunications.
  • Advanced knowledge of management and test solutions for automotive industries.
  • Experience developing metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.

What is Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with ISO17025 or IATF 16949 standards.
  • Knowledge of automotive international EMC standards and OEM specifications.
  • Training in problem-solving methodologies such as DMAIC, PDCA, CAPA, etc.
  • Project management experience.
