Global Patient Safety Lead (Line Management)
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a leading global pharmaceutical organisation for an experienced leader in Patient Safety to join a growing global Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance function.
This is a highly visible global leadership position operating at the intersection of Patient Safety, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation. Combining strategic benefit-risk oversight with people leadership responsibilities, you will line manage and develop Patient Safety Physicians while contributing to one of the organisation's most important late-stage development programmes.
Supporting a high-profile late-stage development programme spanning multiple cardiovascular, metabolic and related specialty disease areas, you will help shape development strategy, influence key regulatory milestones and define the benefit-risk profile of innovative medicines. Working closely with senior cross-functional stakeholders, your input will contribute to decisions with the potential to impact patients globally.

Key Responsibilities
- Directly line manage and develop Patient Safety Physicians, providing leadership, coaching and ongoing professional development
- Provide strategic safety leadership for major global development programme approaching significant regulatory milestones
- Lead benefit-risk discussions and influence key development decisions alongside senior stakeholders across Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Statistics
- Act as a senior scientific partner, helping shape safety strategy and supporting critical decisions throughout the product lifecycle
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing and scientifically driven team environment
- Represent Patient Safety within cross-functional governance forums and senior program discussions
- Support major regulatory submissions and contribute to the evolving benefit-risk profile of innovative medicines
Essential Experience
- Medical Doctor (MD)
- Proven experience within Patient Safety, Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management within Pharmaceutical industry
- Leadership experience, including direct line management, coaching and development of others
- Track record supporting Phase II and III development programs
- Regulatory submission and benefit-risk experience
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills within complex matrix environments
