Group Accountant (m / w / d)

The Financial Accountant will support the Finance Manager for timely delivery of statutory accounts, financial accounting, and reporting. The role will oversee internal controls, intercompany treasury, and tax areas, ensuring compliance with US and German GAAP. The successful candidate will be based in Frankfurt, Germany, with other office locations in Kaiserslautern and Essen also in scope.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the Finance Manager to ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared on time.
2. Support the statutory audits and ongoing tax audit.
3. Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants, statutory auditors, and external tax consultants.
4. Coordinate Oracle month-end activities, including reporting within a small group of accountants (currently 2), according to US GAAP.
5. Coordinate the R2R monthly closing and Group reporting.
6. Ensure compliance with AECOM internal controls.
7. Monitor the activities transitioned to Manila to ensure they are running smoothly.
8. Liaise with Shared Service Centers (Manila and Bucharest) for payments and invoice processing.
9. Drive improvements in accounting processes and statutory accounting.
10. Identify areas for improvement in local B/S reconciliations and drive those improvements.
11. Support and monitor cash management & forecasting and liaise with the Treasury department.
12. Liaise closely with the Tax team to manage transfer pricing analysis and any other tax matters.
13. Assist with any ad hoc requests from the finance and operational team.

Qualifications:

Education & Qualifications:

1. Bachelor\’s Degree in Accounting is required.

Required Experience:

1. Minimum of 6 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment.
2. Excellent written and spoken English and German is essential.
3. Ability to work to tight deadlines accurately.
4. Ability to work as part of a wider team and with remote teams.
5. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience:

1. Experience with Oracle is preferred.
2. Practical experience in a US group audit or US reporting environment.
