Job Summary

  • NetApp/Netapp CVO storage (block/file) provisioning and management.
  • Implement production change activities for routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance to ensure high availability for all devices.
  • Be available for an on-call rotation with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate outside of normal business hours.
  • Assist with storage and backup analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.
  • Write administrative scripts and utilize other automation tools.
  • Configure and maintain backups.
  • Perform data/system recovery.
  • Support implementation of storage software upgrades (NetApp ONTAP and Cloud Volume ONTAP).
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations activities that include change implementation, major incident triage, task organization, SLA/SLO, audit, and problem management.
  • Configure and maintain replication, encryption, allocation/reclaims, storage efficiency, etc.
  • Review operations issues/risks, evaluate, and present mitigation options.
  • Develop strategies to stay current and support upcoming storage and backup technologies.
  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, that require minimal direction and seek guidance where needed.
  • Monitor production systems in multiple data centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate system internals, file system structures, and machine architectures in a Linux operating environment.
  • Maintain Apache, DNS, mail, SSH, TCP/IP, and NFS services.
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms such as automation and push for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Work with the product team to define SLA, SLO, monitoring/telemetry patterns, and stability from the customer standpoint.
  • Help the product team gain momentum and velocity for hassle‑free development across BTP, Hyperscaler, and K8S.
  • Build, manage, scale, and right‑size/TCO initiatives across the SAP Hyperscaler (4+1) strategy toward cloud spend management.
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.

Skill Requirements

  • Manage critical incidents, including escalation, debugging, fixing, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Help R&D debug production issues.
  • End‑to‑end K8s application modernization and delivery via on‑K8s G6R decentralized "enforced state" GitOps approach.
  • Automated certificate management, DNS, and MTLS; unified auto‑scaling, easier adoption, and faster end‑to‑end development framework and strategy.
  • Reduce go‑to‑market timelines (build to prod).
  • Manage DR with reduced costs.
  • Support cloud‑agnostic and Sovereign Cloud deployments (SGS, ISBN SecOps, SAP HASI approved processes).
  • Manage multi‑stage backups (storage, Velero, DB‑native).
  • Process automation and implementation.
  • Manage public cloud environments, including Terraform, GCP, and/or AWS.
  • Use CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, and/or Vault.
  • Implement Kubernetes container management.
