We are seeking an experienced MFA Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, availability, scalability, and security of enterprise Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) platforms. The role is responsible for operating, automating, monitoring, and continuously improving MFA services while maintaining high availability and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), MFA technologies, cloud platforms, automation, monitoring, and incident management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Reliability & Operations
- Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of enterprise MFA services.
- Monitor authentication platforms and proactively identify service degradation.
- Manage production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive permanent resolutions.
- Maintain platform SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets.
MFA Platform Administration
- Support and administer MFA solutions such as:
- SealOne MFA Platform
- OneSpan IAS
- Manage authentication methods, policies, conditional access controls, and user enrollment processes.
- Support integration of MFA with enterprise applications, VPNs, cloud services, and privileged access systems.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, YAML, or similar technologies.
- Automate onboarding, provisioning, certificate renewals, reporting, and operational activities.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.
- Reduce operational toil through continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring & Observability
- Design and maintain dashboards, alerts, and health checks.
- Utilize monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.
- Analyze system performance and capacity trends.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and compliance activities.
- Assist in vulnerability remediation and security hardening of MFA infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity and IAM teams on authentication-related risks.
- Partner with IAM, Security Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams.
- Participate in change management and release activities.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and operations teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with enterprise MFA platforms.
- Knowledge of IAM concepts including:
- SSO
- SAML
- OAuth 2.0
- Experience with GCP (preferred)
- Scripting and automation experience using:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Bash
- YAML
SRE & Operations
- Incident, Problem, Change, and Availability Management.
- Monitoring and observability tools.
- Production support in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Capacity planning and performance optimization.
DevOps
- GitHub/GitLab
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Experience
- 7 to 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 3+ years supporting MFA, IAM, or Authentication platforms.
- Experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Operational excellence and continuous improvement focus.
